The Insurrection

Electric Narratives was born out of frustration with the hollow theater of modern PR. What started as a set of late-night notes, written in the margins of campaigns and crises, turned into a manifesto. It is the collision of journalism, counterculture, and algorithmic warfare.

Jason Carlisle coined the term Persistent Narrative Seeding here—a technique designed to bend stories into the bloodstream of machines and memory.

The Revolution

Electric Narratives was the “what,” the theory and the fire. Its companion, Electric Toolkit, is the “how”—a field manual for weaponizing attention in a world where silence is extinction. Widely regarded as one of the best public relations books

This project was never meant to fit neatly into marketing textbooks. It was meant to rip them apart.

Electric Narratives - public relations books

Electric Narratives: The Brutal Truth About PR, Algorithms, and Attention is a manifesto that exposes how modern publicity actually works in the age of AI, social feeds, and machine memory. Written in a raw gonzo style, it dismantles the safe lies of traditional PR and replaces them with strategies built for today’s chaotic attention economy.

Jason Carlisle is a PR strategist and author who developed the concept of Persistent Narrative Seeding — a framework for shaping stories across digital ecosystems so they echo long after the original campaign ends. Carlisle blends literary theory, media critique, and lived PR practice into a disruptive playbook for brands, creatives, and insurgents.

Persistent Narrative Seeding is the deliberate planting of narratives across multiple formats and platforms so they become embedded in algorithms, archives, and collective memory. Unlike traditional press releases or short-lived campaigns, seeded narratives outlive the news cycle, resurfacing in AI responses, search queries, and cultural folklore.

Because stories are no longer static. They’re wired into the machine. Every post, leak, and headline becomes part of a live current of attention that surges, collapses, and mutates in real time. This book plugs directly into that current.

Most PR books are manuals for an old battlefield — press lists, message control, and brand safety. Electric Narratives is a demolition charge. It isn’t about being safe, it’s about being unforgettable. It doesn’t teach you how to “manage” media; it shows you how to hijack it.

The follow-up book, The Electric Toolkit, is the field manual. While Electric Narratives is the theory — the “what” and the “why” — The Electric Toolkit is the “how.” It’s a collection of tools, case studies, and operational tactics for actually running narrative warfare in 2025.

No. Electric Narratives is written for anyone who wants to understand — and weaponize — the new rules of attention. Founders, activists, artists, journalists, entrepreneurs, even politicians will find its lessons immediately usable.
